DCI Technologies Inc. Announces Updated Radio Control System

DCI Technologies Inc. announced today the latest release in Micro-CAPP(TM) family of Communications and Protocol Processors

The device is a bi-directional serial data communications processor.  At its heart are two RISC processors that provide incredible flexibility and power.  The Micro-CAPP's primary function is as a serial data interface with each port independently configurable by the user.  Data from one port is passed to the other port through dual high speed FIFO's.  This allows the user to add radio control (RTS/CTS or PTT and Pre-Transmit) to a full duplex data stream and is designed to handle binary protocols.    The connector layout allows for a simple connection to the DATARADIO T96SR transparent radio system as well as the flexibility to connect to virtually any "radio modem".
 
The device controls the radio so that the host system doesn't have to provide PTT or handle RTS, CTS.   Maximum data rate is 19.2 kbps.  The device measures 5" by 2" by 3" and has a power supply range of 10 to 30 volts DC.

Micro-CAPP's are under test in the international market and have been running on a S.C.A.D.A. system for a major oil pipeline in Canada since March 1998 without a single problem.  The devices are connected to the Host System terminal servers and provide radio control for a Dataradio T96S network.
